The objectives and purpose of the Northern
Nevada Wrestling Officials Association (NNWOA)
are as follows:
- To provide schools and other organizations
with qualified wrestling officials approved
and certified by the NNWOA, the Nevada Interscholastic
Activities Association (NIAA) and the National
Federation of High School Associations (NF).
- To promote and elevate the highest possible
standards of officiating for the sport of high school wrestling in Northern
Nevada.
- To provide a forum for the objective and
consistent interpretation of the rules as published
by the National Federation of State High School
Associations (NF).
- To promote good fellowship among members of
the Association.
- To further the interests of athletics in general
and wrestling specifically, by promoting the
proper spirit of competition, good sportsmanship
and fair play.
- To secure a close cooperation and understanding
between school administrators, the Nevada Interscholastic
Activities Association (NIAA), competitors,
parents, media and wrestling officials.
- To improve the standards of officiating while
promoting the proper mechanics of officiating
high school wrestling.
- To encourage the enrollment and actively assist
in the development of new wrestling officials.
- To promote and encourage a positive professional
relationship between officials and coaches.
- To establish the highest possible standards
of ethics and professionalism.
